I can't believe I am almost to number 25 already! I am really enjoying this, and I think it is a great training exercise. I plan on making a few small changes to the format with next sketch.
I read in Rough Stuff 3 that John Buscema, as art director of Marvel, used to tell young artists not to use your eraser. I guess these sketches are good practice for this.
I went hog wild last night and drew up a bunch of sketches. I really feel like I am getting a good rhythm going. I think this one was done in less than an hour. Again almost technically not a sketch, but getting closer.
Last night was a great night for sketching, as I was ripping them out in less than 20 minutes, so far my personal best. I am working on getting them out much faster.
I sometimes lose a bit of focus. The idea of these sketches are just that, they are to be done quickly as a sketch. My problem is that I get into them and rework them until I like it, which might take a few hours. Thats not a sketch. This pic of Exodus, thankfully was done quickly and I am pretty pleased with it.
I kinda deviated from my M.O. to bring this lil gem. Its something Im working on with Mika. Its also a bit more detailed than what I want to do here, but art is about experimentation and change. So...on that note can you guess who this is.
